Perkiomen Valley Area
Perkiomenville
Bucolic. Recreational.
Peaceful.
Nestled in Northern Montgomery
County, Perkiomenville is located at the foot of the beautiful Green Lane Park
and straddles the Perkiomen Creek in both Marlborough and Upper Frederick
Townships.
A Brief History
The founding of Perkiomenville is
controversial, but most historians suspect that a farmer named James Ferguson
Seeds became the first landowner in 1727 when he tended the land inhabited by the
Perkiomen Indians. Legend has it that Seeds enjoyed a peaceful relationship
with the natives, and his grandson, Jacob, even married a native Perkiomen
Indian. Upon James Seeds’ death, he
dubbed the area “Perkiomenville”.
